The BRC offers a paid, registered membership option, which provides many benefits (see list below). However, please note that it is not necessary to be a registered member to participate in most club activities. Memberships range from individual to family to student levels for 1 or 5 years.

Membership fees are used mainly for expenses to maintain our non-profit status through the Road Runners Club of America, including insurance costs.

The BRC is a major organizer of the Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon in September and the St. Clair County Law Day 5K and Youth Run in April and is proudly  involved in Belleville’s adopt-a-trail program, the Belleville Chili Cookoff, and St. Clair County’s Get Up and Go campaign. The club also offers 5K and marathon training programs and the participates annually in the River to River Relay in Southern Illinois. We host club social events throughout the year as well!

The BRC meets for group runs several times a week. The club also holds regular meetings, which are open to all members and the public (members are encouraged to attend these meetings and participate!). Click here for the BRC calendar of events.

On March 12, 2012, all four of the BRC founders and a few others got together and adopted a set
of bylaws. By doing so, we were able to gain acceptance to the Road
Club of America
and will allow incorporation, not for profit status, insurance, etc.

Here is a copy of our bylaws: BRC
